Rodney Dale Thompson, 63, of Rocklin, CA died Friday, April 24, 2026.

Rodney was born in Alpena on Jan. 1, 1963, to Charles and Doris (Schultz) Thompson. Following graduation from Alpena High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving 11 years before starting a telecommunication company in San Diego, CA. On Oct. 16, 1993, he married Sabrina Curry. In 2002, they returned to Alpena where Rodney enlisted in the United States Air National Guard, serving at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center. He began pastoring a small non-denominational church and on Feb. 7, 2004, he was ordained. In 2019, he was invited to serve as the Executive Secretary of Amazing Facts International along with pastoring for the Folsom (CA) Seventh-day Adventist Group for the past four years.

Surviving are his wife, Sabrina; four children, Racheal Thompson, Stephaine Thompson, Jeffrey Orlando, Elise Rosenberg; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his mother, Doris Thompson; brother, Randy (Kathy) Thompson; two sisters, Barbara (Scott) Page, Joan (Gerald) Thiem; several nieces and nephews. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Charles Thompson and sister Carol Ann Thompson.

Memorial visitation will take place at the Alpena Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Nephew officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
