L. David Samuel

Laverne David Samuel was born in Mt. Clemens on May 13, 1925, to the late Joseph and Esther (Harder) Samuel. On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Sarah Eunice Norton. She preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 2008. David served in the United States Navy during WWII, after his honorable discharge he worked as a barber for many years. He owned the Barber Shop Around the Corner in Lincoln, retiring in 1987. He had a love for music, was a member of the Lutheran Choralaires, Lincoln Lions Club, Alcona Athletic Club, both Hope Lutheran and Spruce Lutheran Churches. He would say, “the secret to a good long life, was a good Manhattan.

Surviving are his children, Deb Wolf, David (Linda) Samuel; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Samuel was preceded in death by son-in-law, Blake Wolf; grandson, Eric Samuel; great granddaughter, Isabella; siblings, Edwardine Samuel, Beverly (Russ) Smith and Robert (Ella) Samuel.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
