Judith Armstrong

Judith “Judy” K. Armstrong, 81, died on Feb. 8, 2026. She was born on Jan. 7, 1945, in Detroit, to Ruth Lamphere Lamble and Howard Lamble of Birmingham, MI and Presque Isle.

Judy’s life was defined by her love of family, Grand Lake, and the outdoors. She spent her childhood and teenage years on Grand Lake, where she and her sisters were known for water skiing on one another’s shoulders. She was in the first graduating class of Marian High School in Birmingham, MI. She later raised her four children with her ex-husband Gary Lipovsky in Royal Oak, MI and worked in the Records and Deeds Department for Dakota County, Minnesota.

Judy enjoyed many happy years in Prescott, Wisconsin, with her beloved husband Steven Armstrong where she lovingly cared for her home and gardens. Together they followed the Green Bay Packers, socialized at Flanders, and traveled the world as Steve worked for many years for Northwest/Delta Airlines. In retirement, she returned to Grand Lake in Presque Isle, where she spent her final years tending her lake home, cultivating beautiful gardens, and hosting her many family members at the lake.

A talented seamstress and avid gardener, Judy also loved collecting English pottery and antiques. She also enjoyed local politics and was always ready for a spirited but good-hearted discussion.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Steven Armstrong; her sons, Andrew Lipovsky and Daniel Lipovsky; and her sisters, Sue Lamble Prucha and Elizabeth (Liz) Lamble Hainstock and brother-in-law Max Sempowski.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Klotz of Clarkston, MI, and Molly B. Lipovsky Morgan of New London, NH; her grandchildren, Tanner Klotz, Linden Morgan, Ember Morgan, and Azalea Morgan; her sisters, Nancy (Lamble) (Ron) Corey and Carol (Lamble) Sempowski; her brother, Mike Lamble and brothers-in-law Skip Prucha and Mac Hainstock and sister-in-law, Kristine McDougall Lamble; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grand Lake Community Chapel in Presque Isle (following the wooden boat show) at 4:30 p.m. on June 20, 2026. In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Judy’s honor to the Grand Lake Association at PO Box 99, Presque Isle MI 49777
