Helen Hemmingson

Helen Florence Hemmingson, 91, previously of Herron, went home to her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena, with family at her side.

Helen Florence Timm was born in Hubbard Lake on April 27, 1935, to Ferdinand and Lena (Wilke) Timm. She married the love of her life, Joseph Hemmingson on October 4, 1952. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2011.

Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved being together with her family, friends, and having fellowship time with her church family. She and her husband, Joe, raised their family on a dairy farm, where they learned the lessons they needed for life and trusting in God for eternity.

She is survived by her pride and joy of children, Ann (Gary) Gerke, David (Nancy) Hemmingson, Julie (Kurt) Krajniak, Robert (Erin) Hemmingson, Jill (David) Bauer; Todd (Marcell) Hemmingson; grandchildren, Lori (Matt) McKay, Sara (Alex) Scott, Kate (Logan) Boursaw, Kyle (Kara) Krajniak, Jarret Krajniak, Andrew (Katy) Kelsch, Adam (fiancée, Megan Murdoch) Kelsch, Jordan (Meg) Hemmingson, Brett (Lily) Hemmingson, Hope (Jon Straley) Bauer, Eric (LeAnn) Bauer, Austin Hemmingson, Ryan Hemmingson, Tonya Hemmingson; great grandchildren, Ashley (fiancé, Jerry Gray) McKay, Brittany (Kole) Piper, Alyssa DeLisle, Kelli DeLisle, Stan Scott, Harvey Scott, Knox Krajniak, Kallum Krajniak, Korryn Krajniak, Brooklyn Krajniak, Harper Krajniak, Charlie Kelsch, Gemma Kelsch, Ethan Kelsch, Lewis Kelsch; great-great grandsons, Phoenix Loughery, Oliver Piper, Motley Piper.

She was preceded in death by infant daughter Judy, granddaughters; Lena Bauer, Stacy DeLisle; grandson, Matthew Hemmingson; siblings, Elmer Timm, Robert Timm, Ewald Timm, Wilmer Timm, Emma Krentz, Adeline Thiem, Evelyn Christensen, and Myra Meadors.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Beaver Lake Community Church in Lachine on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chris Sanders officiating.

Interment: King Settlement Cemetery
