Donald Mathison

Donald Ralph Mathison was born in Alpena on Aug. 9, 1942, to the late Ralph and Mary (Kanthack) Mathison. On Nov. 5, 1960, he married Constance Donovan. She preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2022. Donald enjoyed spending time deer hunting, fishing, and working on his hobby farm. He was also a member of the Alpena Eagles Club.

Surviving are his three children, Laurie (James) Hansen, Robin (Danny) Marchione, Joe Mathison; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Amber Brown) Marchione, Caitlin (Brendan) Crocker, Cody Mathison, Kyle Mathison; two sisters, Shirley Pride and Audrey (Howard) Miller; two sisters-in-law, Merry Huntley, and Sandra Donovan.

Donald was preceded in death by his three brothers-in-law, Ernie Huntley, William Donovan, Jim Pride; nephew, Connie Ray Huntley.

A private family service will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Inurnment: King Settlement Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter.
