Randy Krebs
Randy Walter Krebs, born on Jan. 28, 1951, in Alpena and died on May 15, 2026, in Alpena, lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and devotion to the people and places he loved.
He was the first born son of the late Edwin and Lorraine (Cousineau) Krebs. Randy served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Army Commendation Medal for his service, a period of time that demonstrated his commitment to service and country.
Following his military service, Randy spent many years supporting the Cap & Bottle store working alongside Ed and most recently, a part-time employee of the Thunder Bay resort in Hillman.
Randy found enjoyment in woodworking and appreciated the satisfaction that came from creating something with his hands. He spent many years hunting as a member of the Little Wolf Hunting Club where he spent more time in nature and building comradery among his club members than the sport. He enjoyed watching western movies and action films and listening to music and always had a story to tell.
Family was an important part of Randy’s life, and he is survived by his daughters, Cara (Scott) Doerfler and Meaghan Krebs. He leaves behind his brothers, Eric (Pam) Krebs, Edwin “Bill” (Laurie) Krebs, and Jeffrey (April) Krebs. He is preceded in death by his sister, Laurie (John) Ewing.
He was a proud grandfather to Gwendellyn Doerfler, Elisa Travis-Knight, and Marquis Carter, Junior and while he never met them, was also the great-grandfather of two healthy great-grandchildren. His family will remember him for his steady presence, his practical nature, and the quiet ways he showed care and support.
Per his wishes Randy has been taken for cremation with no services planned at this time. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
