Maryann Rouleau
Maryann Rouleau, 70, of Alpena, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.
Maryann Pyscynski was born in Alpena, Michigan, on July 11, 1955, to the late Leonard “Baldie” and Rosemary (Rembowski) Pyscynski. Maryann worked as a nurse for many years at the nursing home. She was kind and dedicated, taking care of the elderly. When Maryann wasn’t working she loved to garden, cook, and bake. She always had a basket with her homemade jams, breads, and cookies. She loved the holidays, especially decorating inside and outside the house. Holidays were always great with her. Her love for animals was always her biggest passion. Maryann loved guinea pigs, cats, dogs, and even peacocks. Her dogs were always sitting in the same chair she sat in. I Love you Sister.
MaryAnn was always there for us, with a kind word or a gentle smile at just the right time. She was wise, soft-spoken, thoughtful, and generous, always giving of herself freely. She was truly a loving soul with a beautiful spirit! Chief Seattle said that “There is no death, only a change of worlds.” We love her beyond mere words and will miss her beyond measure.
After my mother, Victoria Torres, had passed, I did not think anyone could take her place. Then enter MaryAnn. For the last 19 years, she always took care of me, even when I was being a pain or stubborn. I loved her like a real mother, and she loved me like her own kin. She was a kind and loving soul, always helping others in need. I aspire to be as kind and gentle as her, and I will keep a lot of her words and teachings in my heart. I will miss her dearly, but I know she is in a much better place, and she will always be by my side in spirit.
Surviving are her two sisters, Kathy Alden and Nancy (Joe) Rietman; her fiancé, David Torres; her son, Dakota Torres; and her niece, Jaimie Alden.
Maryann was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Pyscynski.
Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter.
