Martin Marvar

Martin was born in Houghton on Aug. 9, 1947, to the late Martin and Leone (Lange) Marvar. On June 13, 1970, he married Cheryl Fulk. She preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2021. He taught his entire career at the Posen Consolidated Schools, retiring after 30 years. Marty enjoyed all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing trips in Canada, tinkering in his yard and was an avid reader. Marty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Deana Caldwall, two grandchildren, Kannen Caldwall, Kailey Caldwall, sisters, Patricia Marvar, Mary Marvar; loving companion, Katherine Piontkowski and her family.

Marty was preceded in death by his son, Darin Marvar.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon with Rev. Thomas Orth officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
