Nov. 23, 1957 - March 11, 2026
Lynn Powell-Kieliszewski passed away on March 11, 2026, after an incredibly heroic battle from a very recent diagnosis of aggressive ovarian cancer. She did not want to leave her family she loved so dearly but they were with her, holding her in their arms and hearts until the very end.
Lynn Christine Powell was born to the late Loren “Larry” and Donna (Jensen) Powell on Nov. 23, 1957, in Grand Blanc, MI. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Phil Kieliszewski, her son, Matthew Kieliszewski of Tucson, AZ and her daughter Caitlin “Caitie” Kieliszewski of Alpena.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan followed by her Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She advocated for causes she cared about and most of all for her family and loved ones every day of her life. Lynn was a vibrant, fiery personality who brought all the love, joy and humor to her family. She was an avid reader and gifted writer and an immense lover of cats. Her openness and empathy were unmatched. She was all the light, color, and music in her beloved family’s world. She will be held onto by her family for eternity even as she is enveloped in the arms of the Lord and all the angels she always said she felt in her daily presence. She will be missed and grieved beyond measure.
