Linda Domke
Linda L. Domke, 81, of Alpena died peacefully on March 8, 2026.
She was born on D-Day, June 4, 1944, to Harry and Virginia (Fournier) Atkinson. Linda was raised in Long Rapids and later moved to Alpena.
She attended nursing school in Bay City and worked most of her career at Alpena General Hospital. She helped launch the opening of “Qwick Care” walk-in clinic and worked there for several years. Her love of gardening graced the grounds of the home she built with her late husband, Arnie Domke. Being involved in her grandchildren’s lives was her greatest love.
Linda is survived by children; Scott McLaren and Karie Bleau, grandchildren; Samantha Opperman, Alec Leask, and Dylan McLaren, great-grandchildren; Avery and Blake Opperman, and Wesley Leask. Surviving siblings are Susan and David Skibbe, Peggy and Greg Michalek, Lanny, and Dewain Lockwood, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased in death by; her parents, Harry and Virginia, stepfather; Floyd Lockwood, husband; Arnie Domke, daughter; Kristie McLaren, and siblings; Larry Atkinson, Mary Kaye Precord, Steve Lockwood.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Long Rapids First Congregational Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon with Scott Edgar officiating. The family extends a special thank you to Randy and all the staff at Orchard Manor for all of their care and loving kindness.
