Joyce Blanche Edgley, 91, of Alpena died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at her daughter’s home surrounded by loved ones.
Joyce Blanche Muszynski was born in Alpena on July 28, 1934, to the late Frank and Ruth (Morley) Muszynski. On June 27, 1953, she married Donald Edgley. Together they owned and operated The Stockade Party Store. Don preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2019. Joyce will be remembered for the pride she took in running the household, including her seamstress work, homemaking, and the ironing skills she took great pride in. She also enjoyed many hobbies such as making crafts, knitting dishcloths, doing word searches, reading, and playing cards and board games. Most importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are two children, Jerry (Julie) Edgley, Cheryl (Gary) Edgley-Gray; six grandchildren, Renee (Jeff Ligney) Morrow, Melissa (Tigran) Morrow Melkumov, Matthew (Lauren) Edgley, Kaitlyn (Logan) Edgley Hatfield, Jeska Edgley Peak, Ari (Jay) Edgley; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Esther Kadrich; sisters-in-law, Mary Muszynski, Mary-Kay (Sam) Chalton; son-in-law, John Morrow, daughter-in-law, Wanda Boyd; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Cys and MaryAnn.
Mrs. Edgley was preceded in death by her son, Donald Edgley, Jr., grandson, Alic Edgley; brother, Charles Muszynski; sisters, Alice Kolarov and Mary Lou Helinski.
Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A private graveside service and celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Inurnment: Evergreen Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan or Harvest Community Church.
