Jere Dault, 80, passed peacefully on Feb. 23, 2026, in Sun City, Arizona. Jere was born in Alpena on Dec. 12, 1945, to Zeph and Wilma Dault. He graduated from Alpena Catholic Central High School in 1964 where he was active in sports including baseball, football, and track. He was a graduate of Alpena Community College and served aboard the USS Independence as an aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam war.
He married Carol Schwartz on June 17, 1972, and they went in search of great adventure, living in New Orleans, Chicago, Sarasota, Bay City, Alpena, and Arizona. Jere enjoyed an illustrious career in real estate for over 40 years. He was also a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Jere loved playing the guitar and some of his favorite artists included Bob Dylan, Creedence, Derek Trucks, and Susan Tedeschi. Jere was an avid golfer, fisherman, and was considered a legendary hunter.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Brian, son Christopher, grandchildren Neil and John Dault, a brother Steve, sister Cathy,
sister and brother-in-law Marianne and Dan, sister Janet, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother Tom.
A celebration of life will be held Summer 2026 in Bay City, Michigan.
