Kenneth Longpre

The son of Gordon and Clara (Klein) Longpre was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Rust Township. He graduated from Hillman High School in 1951. Shortly after graduation, he entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War. After returning from Korea, he married Deloris Schalk on Sept. 15, 1956, in Hillman.

Ken worked in Alpena for Bearss Plumbing and Heating, and then for Ken’s Plumbing and Heating, for 40-plus years. He enjoyed being home, gardening, and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard, and a sister, Eleanore Wikaryasz.

Surviving are his wife Deloris, a son, Roger (Melissa) Longpre, a daughter, Karen (Jim) Myers, 4 grandchildren, Hallie (Hunter) Chunko, Anna Callender, Travis, and Connor Myers.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Royston. Burial will take place in the spring. Online condolences may be sent to Greenfuneralhomes.com
