Barbara JoAnn “Bobbi” Zubi (née Nowak), 86, died peacefully on Feb. 17, 2026. Born and raised in Alpena, Bobbi spent forty years in Los Angeles, where she raised her family and worked for global accounting firm Price Waterhouse before returning to her hometown in 2002 to pursue her lifelong passion for art.
A talented artist and copyist, Bobbi studied at Los Angeles Valley College and Alpena Community College. She was an avid traveler, a lover of cinema, and a dedicated volunteer for her church and the Northeast Michigan Artists Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Jean Nowak. She is survived by her two sons, Hani and Naseem; her three sisters, Charlotte, Esther, and Chris; and her many friends in the community.
Bobbi’s memorial service and interment will be held in the spring. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted with arrangements.
