Patrick Bowen

June 11, 1940 – Jan. 6, 2026

Patrick Bowen

Patrick F. Bowen, born on June 11, 1940, was a man known for his deep love for his family. Patrick passed peacefully from this world at home surrounded by his loving daughters and wife (aka his harem) on Jan. 6, 2026.

Patrick built a distinguished career as a certified Electrician and HVAC professional with Abitibi Price Corporation. A proud union man, he was an active member and served as President of Local 4-260, AFL-CIO. His leadership and integrity extended beyond the workplace, as he also served on the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan Board of Directors.

Patrick was deeply involved in his community. He was a member of the Exchange Club, the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He served on the Boards of Directors for Abitibi Credit Union and Wolverine State Credit Union, and he was a founding member of a local euchre club that proudly continues to this day.

Patrick was born to Harold “Star” Bowen and Roba “Fern” (Drake) Bowen. He was the middle child of three boys (Richard and Dennis), all of whom preceded him in death. While Patrick’s professional and civic accomplishments were many, his greatest joy was always his family. On October 9th, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Snyder). Together they shared a loving marriage for 67 years and raised four daughters: Carrie (Jeff) Sprayberry, Lana (Chris) Harris, Lisa (Roger) Tadajewski, and Kristen (Ray) Spain.

Patrick was affectionately known as “Papa” by his seven grandchildren (Lauryn, Bailey, Taylor, Christopher, Brynn, Alex and Justin) and five great-grandchildren (Ari, Nolan, David, Charlotte, and Brody), a title he cherished above all others. He is also survived by his “brother” Jimmy Chen, who earned the title of brother through their deep friendship and love of golf.

He was a man of many talents and hobbies, always willing to share his knowledge and lend a helping hand. He loved to travel and was a mentor to many. There was little he couldn’t fix or build, from sanding floors and tackling plumbing to carpentry, building a house, and even finding time for a round of golf (or two!).

In addition to his parents and brothers, Patrick was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Raymond Spain.

The family would like to thank Pat Stanton, Bob Torsch and Jimmy Chen for their continuous love and support.

Patrick F. Bowen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those desiring, may make contributions to Hospice of Michigan.

Family will receive friends at McWilliams Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026 from noon until the memorial service at 3 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating. Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
