Norman Earl Dutcher

Norman Earl Dutcher, 97, of Alpena passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at Medilodge – Alpena.
Norman was born in Sebewaing, Michigan on July 22, 1928, to the late Earl and Hazel (VanWagner) Dutcher, and spent his junior and senior years in the TB Hospital in Gaylord. On August 13, 1949, he married Shirley Nensewitz. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2017. Norm worked as Director of Operations and retired from Jones Transfer in 1990. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Alpena Rotary Club and Fisherman’s Hunting Club. Norm served on the Alpena Zoning Board of Appeals for many years and will be remember by his nieces and nephews lovingly as Uncle “Bud”.
Surviving are his two children, Steven (Andrea) Dutcher, Patricia (Thomas) Brousseau; 5 grandchildren, Kyle (Allison) Dutcher, Katherine (Jason) Cramer, Nicholas (Emily) Brousseau, Geoffrey (Victoria) Brousseau, Stacy (Toby Levine) Brousseau; 5 great grandchildren, Jake, Madelyn, Scarlett, Mackenzie, Rosalind; brother, James Dutcher; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dutcher was preceded in death by sister, Geraldine Shea and brother, Alan “Pete” Dutcher.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 3-8 p.m. and will continue Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Shipman officiating.
Inurnment: Evergreen Cemetery
