James Duby

James F. Duby was born on June 17, 1938, in Alpena to the late Ernest and Beatrice (Rambowski) Duby. James served in the United States Army during the Korean war. After the service James met his future wife, Donna Lipski. They were married Sept. 28, 1968. Donna preceded James in death on Feb. 19, 2014. James worked as an autobody repairman working at several shops around Alpena. After retirement, James started his own boat repair business, “Blue Water Boat Repair”, which was a major passion of his. When not working on boats, James enjoyed fishing.

As a grandpa, uncle and father, he will be remembered as the most loving, caring, and most generous person to everyone that was around him.

James is survived by his three grandchildren, Jodi McKay, Jackie Dault, and Ronnie Dault; and three great grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his daughter Jacquelin Filipiak.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
