Darlene Dekett

Darlene was born May 26, 1935 in Alpena, the daughter of the late Howard and Freida (Prieur) Pake. On Aug. 25, 1956 she married James Dekett together they were blessed with 64 years of marriage until his passing on May 30, 2020.

Darlene worked as a personal banker for over 40 years. Her career started at Peoples Bank and Trust at the age of 18 and eventually retired from NBD Bank. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, traveling which included several trips to Las Vegas where she enjoyed gambling, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. As a woman of faith, Darlene was also a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Darlene is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Dekett, Karen (Gordon) Suszek, David Dekett, her grandchildren, Jeremy and Marco, her great grandson, Nikolai, and her sister in-law, Sally Cadarette. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Johnson.
