Marlene Coney

Marlene Edna Bills was born in Alpena on Sept. 19, 1938, to the late Merle and Edna (Weaver) Bills. She graduated as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in 1968 from Mt. Pleasant Nursing School, working in home health care and later for the State of Michigan at the Mount Pleasant Regional Center, retiring in 1992. Marlene was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing golf, bowling, oil painting, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are her daughter, Judy Theobald; grandson, Kyle (Chrissy Maki) Theobald; brother-in-law, Ken Wirgau; several nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Theobald; 10 siblings, Merle Bills, Jr., George Bills, James Bills, Raymond Bills, Earnest Bills, Theodore Bills, John “Jack” Bills, Rena Bruno, Aileen Tallman, and Carolyn Wirgau.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon with Kim Olsen officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
