Guy Moulds

Guy was born in Alpena on Jan. 12, 1933, to Guy and Gertrude (Arlt) Moulds. He married Mary Poirier on Sept. 2, 1951, and shared many years together until her passing in 2008. On Oct. 12, 2013, he married Shirley (Swan) Nowak, and their years together were filled with laughter, love, and companionship.

Guy spent his career with Huron Portland Cement Company, retiring in 1991 as Health and Safety Director. He was part of the Board that founded the Huron Portland Company Credit Union and helped establish the Alpena Golf Course. He was active in several area churches and took part in mission work. Away from work, he kept busy on the farm, played cards often, enjoyed golf, and never missed the chance to tell a joke.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley; his son, Charles (Teresa) Moulds; and grandchildren Loren (Kelly) Moulds, Jennifer (Jake) Hill, and Eric (Ana) Moulds. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren — Ethan, Audrey, Boyd, Parker, Emily, and Hailey — along with Shirley’s children and their families: Kris (Jodie) Nowak, Kurk (Janet) Nowak, Lisa (Roy) Wimmer, Aimee (Rod) Krueger, Michelle (Carlos) Wright, and David (Ann) Nowak; daughter-in-law Charla Nowak; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Guy was preceded in death by his son, Peter (Debbie) Moulds; Shirley’s son, Ervin Nowak; and his siblings Floyd Moulds, Violet Whaley, and Janet Knox.

According to his wishes, a private family service will be held. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Bannan Funeral Home
