Michael Sokol
Michael Joseph Sokol (Sokolowski), age 67, was born in Detroit, on December 19, 1957 and raised in Alpena, Michigan. Michael passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home in
Daytona Beach, Florida, on June 13, 2025.
As a child he enjoyed playing baseball, and football, listening to music (especially the Beatles) and fishing at the cottage on Grand Lake with his dad. Michael graduated from Alpena
High School in 1976. He retired from Pepsi Bottling Group where he was a dedicated delivery
driver for 42 years. He was a loving father, step-father and husband to Vicki Sokol (Campbell)
for 26 wonderful years.
Michael Sokol was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Dorothy Sokolowski, and his
brother-in-law, Dennis Shields.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Sokol (Campbell); three sisters, Nancy Swinteck (Gary), Peggy Shields, and Patricia Bowen (Jeff); children, Shanea Anderson (Chad), Tarra Clark (Shane), Dustin Phillips, Megan and Andrea Sokol; grandchildren, Austin, Briana and Caiden Anderson, Samantha Trelfa, Meranda and Ethan Clark, Damon, Jadin and Devin Phillips, Levi Arch, Nathan Rose, Adelyn and Jameson Perfetto; great-grandchild, Oliver Hildreth; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
There will be a family hosted Celebration of Life for Michael J. Sokol on September 14th, 2025, at Besser Bell, in Presque Isle at 2 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a memorial donation made directly to the family.
