Krystn Wallace
Krystn Ellen Wallace, 61, of Alpena, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at her home. Krystn Ellen Wisniewski was born in Alpena on May 14, 1964, to the late Donald and Mary Kathleen “Kathy” (Marciniak) Wisniewski. On August 17, 1996, she married Wayne Wallace. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2012.
After graduating from Alpena High School, Krystn started her life’s journey in California where she worked in the hospitality field and met her future husband, Wayne. They also lived and worked in Colorado before they married and settled in Texas where Wayne had family that soon became Krystn’s family. She continued working in the hospitality industry as a wedding caterer at a country club; her love of cooking eventually led her and Wayne to owning and operating a quaint, train-car restaurant.
After Wayne passed, Krystn returned to Alpena. She graciously opened up her home and her heart to family and friends when they visited, providing exceptional meals, warm accommodations, and lots of hilarity (as her grandmother would say). Her favorite movie was “The Sound of Music,” and she enjoyed traveling to Austria to visit memorable sites from the film. Krystn and Wayne also loved dogs and provided a wonderful home to several pets over the years.
Surviving are 3 sisters, Debi Rybicki, Prudence (James) Blue, Anne (Brian) MacArthur; 4 nephews, Brian (Tiffany) Cohen, Jeffrey Cohen, Kirk MacArthur, Mitchell (Elizabeth) MacArthur; 4 great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating.
Krystn’s final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Krystn’s name to “Friends of Alpena County Animal Control, PO Box 114, Alpena, MI 49707.”
