Gary Lee Van Volkenburg

Gary was born June 24, 1936, in Montmorency County, to the late James and Leona (Favel) Van Volkenburg. He married Delores Andor on March 29, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2025. Gary worked as a truck driver and owned and operated a sawmill logging operation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to the casino.

Surviving are his two children, Cheryl (Daniel) Wozniak, Jeffery (Ruth) Van Volkenburg; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Kyle (Leah) Van Volkenburg, Laura Van Volkenburg, Michael Segorski, Lisa Segorski; 15 great-grandchildren, Carisa, Annica, Kerry, Oliver, Casey, Jake, Mya, Isaiah, Jensen, Adalyn, Karsen, Damian, Lucas, Kaitlyn, Emma; brother, Abe Van Volkenburg; and sister-in-law, Caroline Van Volkenburg.

Gary was preceded in death by his half-sister, Helen Armstrong; three brothers, Howard Van Volkenburg, Kenneth Van Volkenburg, and W. Joseph Van Volkenburg.

There will be a family and friend gathering on Monday at Bannan Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m.
