Beverly Johnson

Beverly Jean Johnson, 83, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. Born on April 7, 1942, in Farmington, Beverly was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard and Mabel(Moulds) Wikaryasz.

Her life was a tapestry of close-knit family ties, playful moments, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Beverly’s journey through life was marked by the love she had for her children, Kevin (Jess) Johnson, Kimberly Johnson, and Brian Johnson, who will forever hold her in their hearts as a guiding light and a source of unconditional love. Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with every ounce of her being, showering Jessica, Kameron, Mason, Kelsy, Tyler, Dylan, and Austin with affection and wisdom. The joy of her life further multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Lucas, and Oakland, who brought renewed laughter and happiness into her world. Beverly was predeceased by her great-grandchild, Asher, whose memory she held close to her heart. The bond of sisterhood was one Beverly treasured deeply, sharing countless memories with her sister, Martha Dubey. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Donajkowski and brother, Michael Wikaryasz, whose memories remained a comforting presence in her life. Beverly’s extended family of nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart as well. Beverly’s best friend and caregiver, Shannon Benson, stood by her side as a testament to the enduring power of friendship. Their bond was a source of strength and solace, particularly in Beverly’s final years.

A woman of many passions, Beverly found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for bingo and scratch-off tickets was matched only by her excitement for trips to the casino, where she reveled in the thrill of chance. Photography was a beloved hobby, capturing moments of beauty and family milestones with a keen eye and a steady hand. Her angel collection was a reflection of her own inner light, each piece a symbol of her faith and optimism. The autumn season held a special place in Beverly’s heart, as she was enchanted by the fall colors that painted her world in vibrant hues. But above all, Beverly’s greatest joy was her family. Being a grandma was not just a title; it was her calling. Her playful nature, loving heart, and rambunctious spirit made every family gathering an occasion of happiness and joy. She will be dearly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held at McWilliams Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 2 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
