Dan Snyder passed away two years ago at his home in Capac, MI.
Dan was born in Alpena, MI, to Earl and Marie Snyder on September 30, 1954. He grew up in the village of Lachine, MI. After graduating from Alpena High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served on the USS Midway and later on the USS Blue Ridge. Dan was honorably discharged after four years of service with the rank of MR2. He was so proud of his service to his country that he loved telling his Navy stories to anyone who would listen.
Dan was also an outdoorsman, working around his property, getting things set up for the next hunting season. Deer hunting was his favorite, making it the highlight of his year. In addition to hunting, Dan also took pride in the fact that he was still able to water ski at the age of 68 years old.
Dan is survived by his brother, David Snyder (Yvonne), Capac, MI; sister, Linnea Manning, Virginia, MN; nephew, Jesse Manning, Virginia, MN; and niece, Melonie Snyder (Dave) of Sterling Heights, MI; plus numerous cousins and friends including the Tom and Joann Burns family of Hillman, MI, and the Dan and Amy Radomski family of Bad Axe, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Snyder, sister-in-law, Debra Snyder and nephew, Dallas Manning.
Interment is Long Rapids Cemetery, Lachine, MI.
