Lois Rosek

Lois Ellen Cox was born in Russiaville, Indiana on July 5, 1940, to the late Zoal and Mary (Crummet) Cox. She moved to Goodman, Wisconsin in 1944, attended Goodman High School. She married Walter Rosek of Crystal Falls, Michigan on June 13, 1959, moved to Ontonagon, Michigan then to Ossineke in 1961. She received her nursing degree from Alpena Community College in 1984 and worked as a registered nurse at Alpena General Hospital until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, and the Michigan Nurses Association. Lois enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and most importantly spending time with family.

Surviving are 2 children, Mary (Greg) Gilbertson, Gene Rosek; 3 grandchildren, Amy Will, Corey (Jessica) Rosek, Brendan Rosek; 2 great-grandchildren, Blakely Rosek, Emersyn Rosek; brother, Arlie (Freida) Cox; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rosek was preceded in death by son-in-law, Conrad Gliniecki; granddaughter, Kendra; siblings, Eleanor Snell, Edward Cox, Irene Byers, Gerald Cox, infant Betty Louise Cox; and her longtime and loving companion Don LaBonte.

Visitation will take place at Hope Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of the Nurse’s Honor Guard Ceremony at 1 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service with Rev. Dr. Bryan R. Salminen officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
