Judith Ann Hilger

July 16, 1950 – July 11, 2025

Judy Hilger

Judith Ann (Kinsinger) Hilger, lovingly known as Judy, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 74.

Judy was born on July 16, 1950, in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Raymond Levi Kinsinger and Patricia Ann (Simmons) Kinsinger. She spent her early years in Lachine, MI, before relocation with her family to Alpena.

Judy dedicated her life to caring for others, pursuing a long and meaningful career as a Registered Nurse, most notably serving as a travel hospice nurse. Her deep compassion and tireless commitment to her patients earned her the prestigious Nightingale Award during her nursing career.

Judy was the heart of her family — selfless, kind, and filled with love. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, always making each one feel uniquely special and deeply loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Raymond and Eugene.

She is survived by her three children: Brandi (Anthony Miecznikowski), Aaron, and Adam (Deidre); and her seven cherished grandchildren: Grace, Gavin, Lily, Kylie, Elise, Ava, and Vail. She is also survived by her brother Matthew Kinsinger (Denise), and sister Theresa Kinsinger, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her dedication to her family and her life of service to others will be remembered always. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Judy’s memory — something she practiced each day of her life.

She will be cremated at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MI.
