In Loving Memory of Vincent Ross Miller
Vincent Ross Miller passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Amarillo, Texas, on May 8, 1962, Vince lived a life full of compassion, generosity, and disciplined nature.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Dianne, with whom he built a beautiful life and family. He leaves behind his beloved sons Harry and Ryan; his cherished grandchildren Lucy, Ellie, Netty, and Benny; his sister Pepper Harris; his brothers Mark, Darron, and Harry; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him deeply.
Vince is preceded in death by his son, Cory Shayne Miller, his parents Harry and Delores Miller, his brothers David and Richard Miller, and his nephew Jason.
Vince took great pride in his work and in learning the trade from his father, collaborating over the years with many ophthalmologists and optometrists. After graduating from high school in Simi Valley, California, he and Dianne began raising their family. They later moved to San Angelo, Texas, where Vince started his own business, served as a volunteer firefighter, and dedicated himself to being a loving father and provider. Eventually, Vince and Dianne made their home in Alpena, Michigan, where Vince continued to touch lives in his quiet, generous way. He loved scouring thrift stores for bargains, always looking for something useful–or just interesting. He was a man who made sure no one ever went without, whether it was a meal, a helping hand, or a listening ear.
In his later years, Vince found great joy in his work with schoolchildren, driving buses to and from school and events. He loved being known simply as “Mr. Vince” and treasured the friendships he built with the students. Vince also found peace in the open road, enjoying long motorcycle rides, and treasured time spent camping with family and friends.
His family has chosen to remember him privately. In lieu of flowers or formal service, donations in Vince’s memory may be made to his GoFundMe to assist with cremation costs or to your local food bank — reflecting Vince’s lifelong commitment to caring for others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generous heart, loving spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
