David B. Miller

David Barry Miller, 95, of Hillman, formerly of Brighton, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at his home.

David was born in Ann Arbor on October 20, 1929. He attended Brighton High School, where he will be remembered as the first player to score a touchdown on the Sloan Memorial Field. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the Korean War, serving in both Japan and Korea.

On February 20, 1954, he married his sweetheart, Mary Lou Miller.

Dave worked and retired from the Chevrolet Division at the GM Proving Grounds with 35 years of service.

He was a devoted family man who found his sanctuary in nature. He had a passion for farming and working the land. He gained notoriety for his Belted Galloway “Oreo Cows” herd. He enjoyed U-of-M athletics and was a sports enthusiast in general.

Bee keeping, hunting, and playing cards were among his hobbies. He was a member of the VFW Montmorency Post 2356 and the Hillman Sportsman’s Club.

Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mary Lou; three daughters, Krisann (Richard) Farah, Lisa (Sylvain Martel) Miller, Melinda (Stephen) Shine; five grandchildren, Colin, Celina (Josh), Kearnen, Fiona, and Mae.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Royal) Miller; three siblings, Rosemary Clark, Norma Mayo, and Blake Miller.

A celebration of David’s life will take place at a future date. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
