It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger DeWayne Linseman, who was born on June 7, 1935 in Oxford, MI and peacefully left this world at 9:32 a.m. on May 14, 2025 in Alpena, Michigan, where he resided.
Roger was the beloved son of Mikel Ralph Linseman and June Edna Linseman. In 1960, he met and married the love of his life in Nancy, France, Monique Andree Linseman, and together they had three children: Roger DeWayne Linseman with spouse Dawn Marie Linseman (grandchildren Pebbles and Jazzy), Michelle Andree Fitzwater (grandchildren Christina, Dan, and Joe), and Chad Michael Linseman with spouse Dawn Marie Linseman (grandchild Shane). He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren.
Roger dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the Army as a First Sergeant E-8 with the 114th Aviation Co. known as “Knights of the Air”. He retired from the military in 1976 and continued his service by coaching soccer as well as having several different occupations. In his free time, Roger enjoyed hobbies such as collecting coins, drawing/watching birds, watching baseball/ football, and had a love of country music.
Roger Linseman’s legacy of service, love, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family will receive friends at McWilliams Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Paul Moceri officiating. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
