PATRICK W. PREVO

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patrick Wilfred Prevo, who left this world on May 12, 2025, in Onaway, Michigan. Born on Dec. 4, 1947, to the late John and Sarah (Lowrie) Prevo in Flint, Michigan, Patrick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his fun-loving spirit, athleticism, and wonderful sense of humor.

Patrick dedicated over 30 years of his life to General Motors, a career he cherished until his retirement in 1999. It was during these formative years that he also embraced his personal passions, most notably spending over 40 years as a member of the Acorn Club Hunting Camp in Curran, Michigan. An avid golfer, enthusiastic bowler, and spirited softball player, he loved to engage in activities that brought joy and laughter to those around him. Above all, Patrick adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

On April 22, 1977, Patrick married the love of his life, Rita McCormick, in Davison, Michigan. Together, they created a beautiful family and nurtured a bond that remained strong for 48 wonderful years. Their love was a testament to the power of companionship and mutual respect, as they raised their four children–Carla Prevo, Steven Prevo, Jaime (Jay) Kurowski, and Patrick Prevo–instilling in them the same values of kindness and joy that Patrick exhibited throughout his life.

After retiring, Patrick and Rita found solace at Canada Creek in Onaway, where they enjoyed the tranquility and peace of their surroundings. It was a place where they created lasting memories, surrounded by nature and the love of family.

Patrick is survived by his devoted wife Rita, their four children, and five grandchildren: Erica (Cody) Adolph, Katie, John, and Lucy Kurowski, and Patrick Prevo, along with a precious great-granddaughter, Emma Adolph. He is also remembered by his brother, James Prevo, his sister, Maradean (Michael) McManaman, and a host of nieces and nephews who were touched by his warmth and generosity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Jack (Mary Jane) Prevo, Ron (Marsha) Prevo, and Dick Prevo.

Patrick’s legacy will continue to resonate through the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered as a guiding light who left an indelible mark on the hearts of so many.
