JOANN MARIE PARTYKA
Joann Marie Partyka, 85, of Presque Isle, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Alpena.
Born on March 1, 1940, in Ferndale, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Clyde and Florence (Przeslawski) Isaacs.
Joann’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and the countless lives she touched. Joann’s journey began alongside her loving siblings; twin Janet (Jim) Mott, Claudia Isaacs, Tom (Lori) Isaacs, Kathy (Fred) Skerski, Susan Isaacs, Stanley Isaacs, Patrick (Kristen) Isaacs, and Chris (Bob) Piper. Her early years in Ferndale laid the foundation for a life filled with compassion and generosity.
On July 25, 1959, Joann’s heart found its match when she married Norm Partyka at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alpena. Their union was blessed with over five decades of shared dreams and unwavering partnership until Norm’s passing. Together, they raised a loving family, including their children Mark (Jenny), Margaret, Maryann, Michael (Ann), and Mitchell (Diana), eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her son-in-law, Norm. Joann’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she became a foster mother for over 20 years, providing a safe and caring home to many children in need. She was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret.
Throughout her life, Joann’s interests reflected her love for creativity and her passion for nurturing growth. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in crafts, which not only brought beauty into the world but also served as a symbol of her dedication to the things she held dear. Joann’s home was always a welcoming haven, filled with the laughter of her family and the grandkids she adored.
Joann’s selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a woman who gave without expecting anything in return, and her impact on the community was profound. Her work as a foster mother was not just a role but a calling, through which she provided love, stability, and hope to those who needed it most.
As we remember Joann, we are reminded of the warmth of her embrace, the strength of her convictions, and the gentleness of her presence. She was a woman who lived her values, and in doing so, taught us all the meaning of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love.
