CURTIS CLAY CARR
Curtis Clay Carr, born on March 25, 1961, passed away at the age of 64. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force for 20 years, Curtis served his country with honor and continued to serve others throughout his life with a spirit of generosity and compassion, even earning an award for saving a life.
During his years in the service, Curtis traveled all over the world, and his adventures didn’t stop there–he continued to explore the globe while working for many years at General Dynamics until his retirement. His curiosity and appreciation for other cultures were as strong as his dedication to hard work and service.
Known for his kind heart, unwavering generosity, and remarkable humility, Curtis touched the lives of many–family, friends, and even strangers alike. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, steadfast support, or a long story that would lighten the room and leave everyone laughing–he left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to know him.
He is survived by his siblings: Howard (Mary Ann) Carr, Karen Biehl, Anita (Joe) Krot, Mitchell (Kendra) Carr, and Charles (Dawn) Carr, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory and legacy of kindness.
Curtis was preceded in death by his loving parents, Shirley and Clayton Carr, and his brother, Richard Carr, and brother-in-law, John Biehl.
Visitation will be held May 23, 2025, at Bannan Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon with Rev. Bruce Michaud officiating. Followed with military honors by VFW Alpena Post 2496.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
