Chester (Chet) Timmreck, 92, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at home, Jan. 11, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born Nov. 20, 1932, to the late August and Martha (Skierski) Timmreck. Chet was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 and served his country in the Korean War. On Feb. 8, 1958, he married the love of his life, Delores Donajkowski. They shared 66 wonderful years together raising four children, Shelly (Jeff) Wysocki, Terri (Dale) Haken, Todd (Melissa) Timmreck, and Melanie (Chris) Grochowski. Chet was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Brian Wysocki, Jeremy (Courtney) Wysocki, Ashley (Ryan) Timmreck-Walker, Nicholas Timmreck, Madison Timmreck, and Paige Timmreck, along with seven great-grandchildren.
Chet is survived by his wife Delores, his children and their families, his siblings Phillip (Donna) Timmreck, Alice Roy, and June Smolinski. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph Timmreck, Raymond Timmreck and his sisters Jean Ristau, Verna Kaiser, Dorothy Kaiser, and Ann Thibault.
Chet was a hardworking man, retiring after 38 years as a millwright in Mechanical Maintenance for National Gypsum and Lafarge. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fixing things, and was a member of All Saints Parish; but most of all he loved his family and will be deeply missed every minute of every day.
Visitation will take place at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at noon with the Rev. Aloysius Okpala officiating, followed by military honors by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
