MICHAEL KIM JASKOLSKI

Nov. 4, 1954 – Dec. 7, 2024

Michael Kim Jaskolski, known affectionately by friends and family as “Bucky,” passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2024, in his hometown of Alpena, where he was also born on Nov. 4, 1954. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of simple pleasures.

Bucky was the cherished son of the late William and Florence (Nitscher) Jaskolski. His journey through life was shared with his loving wife of 28 years, Cheryl, who was his partner in every sense, his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Reed) Woodruff, and sisters, Bonnie Altman, and Melodee (Patrick) Marceau.

Bucky’s professional life was spent in service to others, working in maintenance for several local catholic churches, a role that allowed him to touch many lives beyond his immediate community. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to the Sunrise Side Corvette Club, where he shared his passion for cars and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bucky found solace and excitement in the embrace of nature. His love for camping, tractor shows, and mushroom picking were well known, as were his serene hikes through the woods. He reveled in the freedom of bike rides, the tranquility of swimming at Mich-e-ke-wis beach, and the company of his beloved fur babies: Bengy, Ozzie, Tiger, Sunny, Cali, and Winkie.

Those who knew Bucky will remember him for his kind and thoughtful nature. He was a man who savored life’s simple joys, like eating good food and spending time with those he loved. His gentle spirit and warm heart left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bucky is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating. Interment to follow. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Michigan, Huron Humane Society, or Friends Together.
