RICHARD LEE BLOOM

Richard Lee Bloom, 78, of Alpena passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at his home.

Richard was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Alpena to the late Roy and Nora (Bailey) Bloom. On Oct. 28, 1966, he married Mary Wieschowski. Dick worked at Besser Co. for 40 years retiring in 2006. He had a passion for farming and was well known for his asparagus. Most importantly was spending time with his family. Dick was a member of First Congregational Church, lifetime member of the NRA, and the Alpena Tractor and Steam Engine Club.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary; three children, Richard Bloom, Heidi (Bob Gibbons) Person, Jennifer (Roy) Tulgestke; six grandchildren, Roddy, Taylor, Katie, Shelby, Eric, Ethan; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Hank) Hordynski; and sister-in-law, Donna Bloom.

Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Bloom, Daniel Bloom, Mary Ellen Walker, Sandy Whitcomb.

Visitation will take place Tuesday at Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Richard E. Hotchkin officiating.
