LAURIE ANN McKAY

Laurie Ann McKay, born in Alpena on March 7, 1944 to the late Gustav Hans and Margaret Zier, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 in Troy, Michigan.

She was a Catholic Central High Graduate, class of 1962. On Sept. 22, 1962 at St. Mary Catholic Church, she married Douglas E. McKay, but divorced from him in September 1985. Laurie was a Brownie Troop leader for Ella White School and worked at Wilcox Care Home. In 1981 Laurie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was employed at St. Vincent Catholic Hospital for 15 years. Laurie returned to Michigan in 2017.

Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Beth (Byron) Brock of South Lyon and Christine McKay of Frederick, Maryland.

Visitation will be at McWilliams Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery on the Zier family plot.
