JOHN DANIEL DOYLE

It is with broken hearts that we announce John’s sudden passing on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at age 82. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Sept. 15, 1942, to the late Daniel and Helena Doyle. John graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in mortuary science. John, however, found his love in construction by joining the Roofers Union Local 149. John was a union member of the local for 58 years and retired as a business manager with the Roofers 149.

John was the beloved husband of Janice Doyle for 60 years, and the loving father of Denise (Tom) Portuallo of Flagler Beach, Florida and Bob Doyle of Presque Isle, Michigan. John was a proud grandfather of Christina, Griffin, and Anthony, and the dear sibling of Margaret Doyle (late John Tyrone), Danny (Kathy) Doyle, and late Edward (late Marsha) Doyle.

John will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Memorial visitation will take place Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish in Alpena, Michigan from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at noon with the Rev. Aloysius Okpala officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Association or a planting of a tree in his honor.
