HARRIET BURKE

Harriet Burke, 95, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at Medilodge of Alpena.

Harriet Isabelle Pake was born April 9, 1929, in Alpena, to the late George and Linda (Kirschner) Pake. After graduating from Alpena High School, she moved to Detroit and worked as a dental secretary where she met and married her husband, Robert. They relocated to Alpena in 1964 where she worked for St. Paul Lutheran Church as a secretary and later for the Jesse Besser Museum where she retired.

Throughout her life she served as President of the Alpena Hospital Tray Club, the Alpena Girls Club, and had served as a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Lois Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, a brother, George Pake, and a brother Wanye Pake.

She is survived by her son, Alan Burke; grandchildren, Khara of St. Louis Mo, Christine (Jacob) Altscheffel of Petoskey, Robert Burke of Brooklyn, New York, and great-grandson, Jack Altscheffel.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
