William George Goodrich, 78, of Herron passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at home.
William was born Oct. 31, 1945, in Alpena to the late Elmer and Phyllis (Caverly) Goodrich. He served in the United States Army. On April 27, 1968, he married Mary DeRosia. William worked at Fletcher Paper until its closing and later worked in the maintenance department at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed farming, hunting, was the best handyman; but most importantly was spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; two children, George Goodrich, Brenda Goodrich; grandson, Avery Goodrich; sister, Ruth Bygden; cousin, Richard Hawley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
William was preceded in death by his infant sister, Emily Marie and sister, Merry Lee Butz.
Visitation will take place Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Herb Kitzman officiating. Military honors will be accorded him by Alpena VFW Post 2496.
Interment: King Settlement Cemetery
