Margaret (Maggie) Lamb, 83, of Alpena, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024. Born on July 11, 1941, to Von and Eunice Knisely. She married Gerald (Jerry) Lamb on Aug. 16, 1983, and he preceded her in death. She leaves countless friends and family including her daughters and bonus sons: Laurie Lankheet (Steve), Susan Applegate-Hristu (Decebal), Barbara Applegate, Colin Lamb (Heathyr), Geoffrey Lamb (Tiffany), Christopher Lamb (Nancy); sisters: Sally Scheer (Dick), MaryKaye Weinmann (late Jack), Janet Knisely-Simons (Marc); grandchildren: Stephani (Ryan), MarkAnthony, Dante, Andre, Eleanore, Sloan, Evelyn, Connor, Beckett; great-grandchildren: Alexa, Carter; nieces and nephews: David, Andrew (Nehemiah), Karl, Jake, Scott (Jenny), Michael (Roxy), Zee, Candy; great-nieces and nephews: Lucy, Violet, Oscar, Nigel, Avery, Benji, Lenora; extended family and special friends: Janine and Clarence, Shawn, Tracy, Linda, Tina and Monty, Cindy, Jim and more.

Maggie worked as an accountant and an insurance agent before they were forced into early retirement as a result of an auto accident in 1986. Maggie was a strong volunteer in the community from Birchwood Block Parties raising money for Muscular Dystrophy to Lions Club to Jazz in the Park in Alpena. She taught girl scouts, led several girl scout troops (and camping excursions), volunteered at the schools, had 25 foreign exchange students, 20 plus temporary students, and fostered over 40 teens. Her involvement in the Alpena community alone has contributed to the success of decades of Brown Trout festivals, Blues festivals, theatre productions at Thunder Bay Theatre and many more. Maggie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpena and has worked in many groups at Trinity, in schools, in theatres, and sang in multiple choirs. She is greatly missed.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 124 E. Washington, Alpena, Michigan beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon with the Rev. Bruce Michaud officiating.
