Jerry Paul Timm, 81, of Hubbard Lake, died in an accident in the woods on his property on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024. Jerry was born on Aug. 31, 1942, in Alpena to the late Julius & Hulda (Ratz) Timm.
Jerry is a graduate of Alpena High School and graduated from Alpena Community College and Central Michigan University with a bachelor's and master's degree in education. Jerry taught in L'Anse Cruise High School where he met his wife, Jackie of 57 years. Jerry returned to Alpena High School where he taught Industrial Arts for thirty-three years. He also taught most of the fifteen-year-olds of Alpena to drive in the parking lot of AHS.
Jerry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed being in the woods, growing the largest tomatoes, dropping off strawberries and vegetables to anyone who would take them, and most of all his beloved girls. Jerry will be remembered as a man who could do anything, always had candy in his pocket for kids, and willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jackie (Torsok) Timm, daughters Jennifer (Mike) Gentner and Jackie (Colm Bloomer) Timm, brother Norman Timm, beloved granddaughter Sarah Gentner, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Julius and Hulda, sisters Ruth (Bill) Bruns, Martha (Bill) Beck, Rosalind (Clair) Klein, and beloved grandson Alexander Gentner.
A private ceremony will be held according to Jerry's wishes. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
