George Arthur Soldenski, 79, of Alpena, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, of an apparent heart attack doing what he enjoyed most, picking rocks for his road project.
George was born in Alpena on July 12, 1945, to the late Flavin and Sally (Smolinski) Soldenski. He served in the United States Army and later retired from General Motors in 1991. He married Konnie Wieczorkowski on Aug. 8, 1981. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood and picking rocks.
Surviving are his wife, Konnie; two children, Suzie Soldenski, Kristopher Soldenski; three grandchildren, Morgan Soldenski, Luke Gilbertson, Hannah Gilbertson; three siblings, John (Linda) Soldenski, Gerry (Linda) Soldenski, Faye Haven; several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Soldenski and brother-in-law, Gil Haven.
Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from noon until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Kerry Clark officiating. Military honors will be followed by the VFW Alpena Post 2496.
