Betty Lou "Peggy" Schultz, 89, of Alpena went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Betty Lou Sylvester was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Alpena to the late Adelore and Dorothy (Davis) Sylvester and married on Feb. 18, 1956, she married Alfred Schultz. She graduated from the first nursing program at ACC in 1973 and retired from Alpena General Hospital. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing on her computer.

Surviving are her husband, Alfred; four daughters, Joan Schultz, Amy (Paul) Unger, Cindy (David) Amlotte, Diane Habermehl; five grandchildren, Pearl Schultz, Jennifer (Patrick) Sparling, Danielle (David) Kelley, Chelsey Amlotte, Andre Schultz; five great-grandchildren; brother, James (Loraine) Sylvester; sister, Elaine Cantrell; several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jessie Habermehl, Katie Habermehl; siblings, Loyd Sylvester, Gordon Sylvester, Virginia Lancewicz, and Frank Sylvester.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A private graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hospice of Michigan.
