Betty Jeanine Arbour, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully with family on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at Isabella Medical Care Facility.

Betty Jeanine Collom was born Feb. 15, 1938, in Detroit, to the late Merton and Jeannette (Wynkoop) Collom. On Aug. 30, 1958, she married William Arbour Sr. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1992. Betty was the founder of Bookworms Volunteer Tutoring in Atlanta.

Surviving are her four children, William E. (Nicole) Arbour Jr, Marianne C. (Kevin) Arbour-Dobbs, Aimee J. Arbour, Annette C. Arbour; six grandchildren, Catherine Potter, William E. Arbour III, Jonathon Dobbs, Joshua Dobbs, Charlotte Leslie, Matthew Leslie; six great-grandchildren, Analisia, Brooklyn, Victoria, Mecca, Madison, and Collin.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta McLain.

Visitation will take place on Saturday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Polycarp Mblarawa officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: St. Augustine Cemetery
