Ronald Dennis Krueger, known affectionately as Ron, passed away unexpectedly from a medical complication on July 15, 2024, at the age of 76, surrounded by his family at his home in Hubbard Lake. Born on April 20, 1948, in Detroit, Ron dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving others and his country.
Ron proudly served in the Navy for four years, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life afforded. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a courageous and selfless career as a Baptist missionary in Mexico and Belize. His commitment to spreading faith did not stop at borders; he also participated in covert operations to smuggle Bibles into communist countries with Iron Curtain Outreach organization.
After returning to the United States, Ron continued to serve his community as the lead wastewater treatment plant operator for the city of Kissimmee. He retired in 2010 and returned to his beloved Hubbard Lake, where he spent his retirement years.
Beyond his professional and service commitments, Ron was a passionate musician, often found strumming his guitar and playing the button box. His musical talents were a source of joy and entertainment for both his friends and family.
Ron is survived by his wife Brenda, sisters, Denise Thomann (John) and Diane Ballard (Russ); daughter, Jennifer Krueger; stepdaughters, Amy Lesch (Mike) and Ashley Ard; grandchildren, Gavin, Justin, Taylor, Zachary, and Tori; and great-granddaughters, Olivia and Alora. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Krueger.
Ron's life was marked by his service to his country, and devotion to his family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all. Ron has donated his body to science and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
