JUDITH ELIN SHIEMKE

Judith Elin Shiemke, 86, of Hubbard Lake passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home.

Judith Elin Gallagher was born May 4, 1938, to the late William and D. Elin (Stark) Gallagher. On July 2, 1966, she married David Shiemke. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2016. Judith worked at Alpena Regional Hospital as a registered nurse, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gambling, belly dancing and loved her critters.

Surviving are her five children, David Shiemke, Lois (Frank) Klein, Debbie (Tom) Bowman, Linda (David) Samuel, Peggy Jordan; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Stephan (Joanne) Gallagher.

Judith was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Isabella, David; and brother, Terry Pat Gallagher.

Memorial visitation will take place Thursday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. and continue there Friday from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating followed by the Nightingale Nurse’s tribute.
