Joanne Ruth Coughlin, 64, of Kalkaska, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on July 18, 2024, surrounded by family.
Joanne was born Jan. 21, 1960, to Eugene "Beaver" and Elaine (Hansen) Hatch, in Alpena.
Joanne was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska while she was the director of the youth program for the church. She enjoyed picking rocks and berries, loved gardening, painting, reading and enjoyed boating on Torch Lake and the river. She was loved by everyone and lived life fully.
She is survived by two daughters, Raena Coughlin, Emily (Nuno) Casas; three grandchildren, Audrey, Gracie, and Allison Casas; mother, Elaine Hatch; four siblings, Susan (Dominic) Visel, Kenneth (Linda) Hatch, Nancy (Kenneth) Amelotte, Connie (Wade) McElhanon; the father of her children, Kenneth Coughlin; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Eugene "Beaver" Hatch.
Visitation will take place Tuesday July 23, 2024, at Bannan Funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. with visitation will continuing at Grace Lutheran Church of Alpena from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Orth.
Interment: Grace Lutheran Cemetery
