Jean Marie Wise, 85, of Alpena entered eternal rest with her sons by her side, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home.
Jean Marie Shalla was born July 6, 1938, in Alpena to the late Clarence and Anastasia (Jill) Shalla. On Aug. 9, 1974, she married Frank Wise. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2000. Jean was a dedicated employee of the Alpena County Road Commission for 22 years. She was a member of All Saints of Alpena. Jean enjoyed spending time with family and friends and sharing laughs. Her keen imagination captured the young minds of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together they explored art, industry and nature with equal enthusiasm.
Jean was loved by her sons, Roger Lee (Suzanne Martin) Mandock, Ricky John Mandock; three grandchildren, Mysti (Ed) Root, Marla Till, Charles (Jessica) Mandock; five great-grandchildren, Allen Rochowiak, James Till, Kaytlin Till, Brayden Root, Faye River Mandock (expected soon); siblings, MaryAnn Long, John (Linda) Shalla.
Jean will be reunited in death with her younger sister, Gloria LaCross.
Memorial visitation will take place Friday, July 26, at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Polycarp Mblarawa officiating.
Jean will be buried with her husband, Frank, at Holy Cross Cemetery.
