DONALD KENNETH SCHULTZ

Donald Kenneth Schultz, 84, of Perry, was with family when he peacefully passed away on July 27, 2024. He was born on April 2, 1940, in Alpena, to the late Adolph “Jim” and Anna (Seabrook) Schultz. After graduating from Alpena High School, he served with honor in the United States Navy, then earned his college degree from Stout State College in Wisconsin. Don spent ten years as a teacher and coach at Alpena Public Schools, then owned his own business, Lansing Plating Company, in Lansing until retirement.
Don is survived by his partner Patricia Fattal; children Ann Schultz (Robert Jones), Jessica (Thomas) Stebbins, and Kurt Moloney (Ricky Yates); son-in-law Robert Taft; grandchildren Jason Taft, Kyle Taft, Parker Stebbins, and Sloan Stebbins; siblings Marvin (Marcia) Schultz, Gayle Young, Judy (Robert) Blondke, and Lynn Oliver (Pasha Halajian) and many loving nieces and nephews. He was privileged to have a close group of lifelong friends he could always count on.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Corey.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Don loved hunting, fishing and spending time on his scenic property.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor his life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 214 S. Main Street, Perry, MI 48872. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Salmon in the Classroom program at Perry Public Schools would be appreciated.
